Hungarian Embassy in Ankara New Office Building Groundbreaking Ceremony Held

The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Embassy Office Building of Hungary in Ankara and the renovation of the residence, hosted by Hungarian Ambassador Viktor Mátis and Adnan Polat, Chairman of Polat Holding, a leading player in the real estate and construction sectors, was attended by Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, and Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.

The holding company conducted a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Embassy Office Building of Hungary and the renovation of the residence located on Atatürk Boulevard in Ankara.

The ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, April 19, was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Hungarian Government Péter Szijjártó.

Péter Szijjártó stated in his opening speech: “Cooperation and strategic partnership between Hungary and Turkey has always been at the center of Hungarian foreign affairs. This focus of Hungary will always remain like this.”

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said: "The Hungarian Embassy Residence, which was built in the first years of the Republic, has served Hungary for nearly a century. The new buildings that we will lay the foundations will strengthen our relations for the next century. The fact that the historical residence of the Embassy and the new service building are side by side in the same garden has symbolic meanings. The historical house is the symbol of our deep-rooted relations, and the modern building is the symbol of the future of our relations.”

The new 7-storey office building, which will be built on a total closed area of 4,385 m2, is designed in a rich and modern look with special landscape works. The project will be delivered in 2023.
